Thomがソロ新作『Tomorrow's Modern Boxes』を突如発表＆リリース。
アルバムは8曲入りで、現在特設サイト(http://tomorrowsmodernboxes.com/)で180gホワイトビニール盤とダウンロード音源（MP3 - FLAC - WAV）がセットとなったDeluxe Vinylセット(£30)と、P2Pファイル共有サービスの「BitTorrent」社による配信サービスでMP3をダウンロードするという「BitTorrent Bundle」(£3.68)での購入可能。

『Tomorrow's Modern Boxes』の特設サイトでは収録曲"a brain in a bottle"の音源とミュージック・ビデオの無料配布をしています。
※「BitTorrent Bundle」でのダウンロードには専用ソフトが必要。

また、Dead Air Spaceも更新。
これはひとつの実験として試したいとのことで、P2Pのファイル・シェアリングとして有名なBitTorrentの新ヴァージョンを通じてのリリース。
BitTorrentの新ヴァージョンは有料のデータ販売を合法的な収益化を図っているP2Pのファイル・シェアリング・サービスで、この方法が上手く機能すれば作品の作者自身がその作品の権利をもち、収益をコントロールするのに効果的な方法になるかもしれない、と。

Tomorrow's Modern Boxes

As an experiment we are using a new version of BitTorrent to distribute a new Thom Yorke record.
The new Torrent files have a pay gate to access a bundle of files..
The files can be anything, but in this case is an 'album'.
It's an experiment to see if the mechanics of the system are something that the general public can get its head around ...
If it works well it could be an effective way of handing some control of internet commerce back to people who are creating the work.
Enabling those people who make either music, video or any other kind of digital content to sell it themselves.
Bypassing the self elected gate-keepers.
If it works anyone can do this exactly as we have done.
The torrent mechanism does not require any server uploading or hosting costs or 'cloud' malarkey.
It's a self-contained embeddable shop front...
The network not only carries the traffic, it also hosts the file. The file is in the network.

Oh yes and it's called
Tomorrow's Modern Boxes.

Jonnyが音楽を担当しているPaul Thomas Andersonの新作映画「Inherent Vice」が本日26日より開催されている第52回ニューヨーク映画祭で初上映となります。（7/19ニュース参照）

「5歳の時、両親が枕元にレコーダーを置いたときから多くの楽器を学んでる。ハーモニカやハープシコード含め。言葉もこうして音楽を学ぶ様に学んだよ。寄せ集めてね。
2、3のフレーズから日本語を学んでもっともらしく話すんだ。音楽も同じ。
2分ドラムを叩いただけで、自分はドラムが叩けるっておもわれる。けど、10分叩いたら、クズって思うよね。
いわゆるはったりだよね、ほんと。」
「Radioheadとして認識されてないと思う。他の4人とステージに立って僕はずっと下向いて皆とプレイする。
目を髪で拭いながらね」
「僕はラッキーなんだ。Radioheadときいても多くの人は僕が誰かわからないんだ。それって完璧だよ。
誰もが知ってる石鹸ブランドで働いてるみたいでさ。「あなたのところの製品使ってます。素晴らしいですね」って言われるのって良いよね。僕はそういうのがいいんだ。」

Philが9月20日、ノーザンバーランド州（Northumberland-イギリスのイングランド北東部）の街、Berwick-upon-TweedのThe Maltings Theatre & Cinema で行われたイベントに「It Will End In Tears」のビデオを手がけたRamaticのサポートとして参加した模様。
このイベントでは「It Will End In Tears」の上映、そしてPhilは10月に発売となるソロアルバムから2曲、Coming Up For Air と Don't Go Nowをプレイしたそうです。

普通に想像されるようなDJパーティとはほど遠く、踊るどころか動けずドリンクすらもとりにいけない状況でした....けど

ニュー・アルバムリリース間近のSBTRKTに関して2年前の謎解きの記事。
2年前に公開されたSBTRKTの「Hold On」のリミックスを手掛けたSisi BakBak。その正体は当時よりThomではないか？と噂されていましたが、（2012.2.18ニュースNew SBTRKT Remix by Radiohead's Thom Yorke under the name Sisi BakBak? 参照）2年越しにThom本人が認めたようです。
