Drowned in Soundに、先週末Liverpool Sound City Festivalに出演した際に行われたPhilのインタヴュー。

Philは曲を書き始めたとき、すべてがまったくRadioheadらしくなかったのでRadiohead以外の所で生かそうと思った。そしてFamilialでより大きなもののためのスタート地点をみつけることができ、今後ソロ活動を続けていくかどうかわからないが、EPをリリースしていく予定もあり、またそのプロセスを楽しんでいるとのこと。
そしてソロの作品においてはバンドとの接点はないが、自分がバンドにいることは大事なことで、バンドがなかったら自分はどこへいったらいいのかわからない...とも。
またThomの"Lotus Flower"でのダンスを素晴らしい、もし僕がやったら変なダンスで自分がすごい楽しんでるのが想像できる....と。
Radioheadの新作「The King Of Limbs」については
「すぐに喜ばれるレコードにはならないと僕ら皆わかってたよ、けど名盤っていうのは38分っていうでしょ。」「僕たちの作品はどれも前作の反作用となってるんだ。「The King Of Limbs」もその慣しに沿った作品になったってことだよ。」と。

本日（イギリス:21日）予定されているPhilのライヴ（3月24日付ニュース参照）が強風のため予定されていた会場（Bombed Church）からO2 Academy 2 Liverpool (住所：11-13 Hotham Street L3 5UF)に変更になった模様。

5月20日、アメリカでは初公演となったJonnyの "Doghouse"の N.YのThe Concert Hall でのプレミア公演（4月21日ニュース参照）の模様がWQXRで公開されています。

88分あたりからRadiohead特集。"Doghouse" は106分あたりから始まります。

Colorado Springs Independentが伝えたFlying Lotusによるインタビューで、Flying LotusがRadioheadに依頼を受け"The King Of Limbs"をリミックスしているとのことで話題になっていましたが、昨晩、Flying LotusがTwitterでこの件についてツイート。

Hey guys don’t jump the gun on that radiohead remix.
I havent even started it yet. The original is great as is.

「ヘイ、Radioheadのリミックスのこと早まるなよ。まだはじめてさえいないんだから。オリジナルはそのままで素晴らしいよ」

昨年から制作をつづけているLondon ViewsのL.Aヴァージョンと言われるLost Angelesシリーズのプリントを開始した模様。
18部にわたるアートワークシリーズで1部につき66枚制作するとのこと。
66枚の良いコンディションのものを得るためには90枚刷らなければならず、18部ともなると1188枚必要で、そのために1620枚も刷らなければならないそうで.....。

5月15日付でWebcast (The Most Gigantic Lyning Mouth of all Time）でおなじみの
Chieftan Mews がyoutubeの動画へのリンクをツイート：

ベルギーの雑誌 “Focus Knack”にJonnyのインタヴューが掲載されています。
主に「ノルウェイの森」のスコアについての様ですが、Radioheadについても語っている模様。

（Radioheadに関わる部分のみ英訳があったのでそこより抜粋：）
Jonnyはトラン・ユアン監督に「ノルウェイの森」の音楽の依頼を受けた当時、「The King Of Limbs」の制作に忙しく断ったが、頼み続けられ同意したとのこと。
そして、しばらくクラッシック音楽に浸かった後、再びギターが恋しくなり、バンドでスタジオ入りしていたと時はギターに新鮮味を感じた...と。

また、アルバム制作に3年かかった事に関して...それは僕のせいじゃないよ。Thomが完璧主義者なんだ。もし僕だったら毎年ニューアルバムを出すよ。だけど多分Thomが時間をかけてなんでも熟慮するからいいんだろうね。だからアルバムが悪くなってく事はないんだよ...とも。

Thomのダンスが話題をよんでいる「Lotus Flower」のビデオのダンスの担当をした振付師 Wayne McGregor がThomを「とてつもないダンサー」と絶賛。

Wayne McGregor はThomと共通の友人を通じてThomからの要請でビデオに関わったとのことですが、イギリスのバレエ界の名門ロイヤル・バレエの専任振付師で自身でもWayne McGregor/Random Danceというダンス・カンパニーを率いているほどの人物。
このビデオでのThomのダンスはファンの間で即興で行われたものとも言われていますが、Wayne McGregorは「徹底的に振付けられたもの」と説明しています。

先月、ニューヨークに滞在中だったThomは現在L.Aに。
Thomは3日、すっかりおなじみとなったLAのRoosevelt Hotelで行われた Friends Without A Borderによる日本支援のためのチャリティイベント" Restaurants for Relief "にNigel Godrichと共に出演。

4日には今年3月にもサプライズゲストとして登場したL.AのLow End TheoryにてDJを行った模様。

ThomはニューヨークからL.Aまで鉄道による陸移動したとの噂....。

Jay GriffithsのThe Universal Sighへの参加はEdがこの作品を気に入っていたことがきっかけともなっているだけに大絶賛、この本には落ち込んだ時に救われた..とも。
めったにDASで本を薦めたりしないけど、この本だけはぜひオススメだそうで、友人、家族にも配りまくっているんだとか...。

WILD

I want to spread the word about a book that I read almost exactly a year ago, which I think some of you will adore/recognise/need. It’s a book called ‘Wild’ and it’s written by Jay Griffiths and it is an astonishing piece of writing and it was exactly what I needed to read….
I was not in the greatest of places .. I was feeling low, getting increasingly disturbed and frustrated by the state of pretty much everything in the 21st century, which, can be simply summarised as the inability of the vast majority of our business and political leaders to truly look after the welfare of the vast majority of this planet’s citizens and the earth that we all live on….Nothing new then?! …..Well… this book was truly medicinal and like all great music, it helped to lift me up and pull me out of this low level depression… Reading it, felt like one of those amazing moments in life where one feels an overwhelming sense of relief and amazement that someone could actually be writing about the very things that seemed to be affecting oneself ….. It makes you feel less alone….And it does this in such a beautiful, passionate and raw way ….
If you got a copy of ‘The Universal Sigh’, you will notice that Jay Griffiths contributed a piece to it …. I don’t normally recommend books on DAS, but seeing as I’ve given away probably 20 or so copies of it to friends and family, I thought some of you should know about this … Good luck …
